Chechen State University is located in Grozny, Chechnya, Russia. Chechen State University is one of the oldest and higher education institutions in the city of Grozny. Chechen State University was founded in 1938 by the Chechen Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic as a Teacher Training Institute. On September 1, 1938, the teacher training institution was transformed into the Checheno-Ingush State Pedagogical Institute, which has a four-year training period. The institute had faculties of linguistics, history, physics, and mathematics. The Institute opened the Faculty of Physical Education in 1956, the Faculty of Primary Education and Methodology in 1958, the Faculty of Natural Geography in 1960, and the Faculty of Foreign Languages in 1962. In 1971, the institute was transformed into Chechen-Ingush State University. By 1980, the university already had eight faculties. In 1990, Checheno-Ingushetia University opened the School of Medicine. On February 28, 1995, Chechen-Ingush State University was renamed Chechen State University. In 1997, Chechen State University opened the Faculty of Agricultural Technology. In November 1997, Martin opened the Faculty of Communications at Chechen State University in Urus. On May 6, 2003, the university was selected as the "Chechen State University" as a state higher vocational education institution. Currently, Chechen State University has 72 faculties and 13 faculties. Chechen State University has 814 teachers, including 55 doctors, professors, and 236 scientific candidates. To date, Chechen State University has trained approximately 20,000 students. Today, Chechen State University has its own botanical garden, zoology museum, history museum, library with five service departments, subscription and reading rooms, and a restaurant.
