The officials at the NBE (National Board of Examinations) have decided to revised the FMGE i.e., the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination which was supposed to be held in December 2022.
Moreover, the examination will be now held on January 20, 2023 as per the new schedule although the examination was supposed to be conducted on 4th December 2022. Moving ahead, the proposal of postponing the FMGE 2022 came after the final announcement of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections which are going to be taking place on the same date when the FMGE was supposed to be scheduled.
In the official notification, it has been clearly stated that due to the announcement of the ongoing Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) elections by the Delhi State Election Commission which has been scheduled to be conducted on 4th December 2022 because of which the officials at the NBE mutually decided to postpone the FMGE exam now for 20th January 2023 which was earlier supposed to be conducted on the same day as that of elections.
Apart from this, it also added that, the FMGE December 2022, will now be rescheduled for 20th January, 2023 and the timings for which is already mentioned in the circular of information for FMGE December 2022.
On the other hand, in order to upload the remaining documents and rectify the application, the examination board has also extended the deadline till December 15.
It has added in its official notification that “Deficiency related to documents uploaded such as Proof of possessing Primary Medical Qualification, attestation of Primary Medical Qualification certificate by Indian Embassy concerned/apostille, Eligibility Certificate/Admission Letter, Identity Proof of Citizenship etc can now be rectified by 15th December 2022.”
From tentatively January 10 onwards, aspirants will get the chance to access the demo test and on January 13 the FMGE December 2022 admit cards will be released. Adding to it, the result for the FMGE December 2022 will now be declared by February, 10th, 2023.
Moving ahead, all the aspirants who are pursuing their course of MBBS from foreign medical universities will have to appear and qualify for FMGE test conducted by the NBE, in case if they want to practise medicine in India or wants to pursue further studies as in post-graduation in any specialty of MBBS.
Moreover, for all the aspirants desiring to acquire a permanent or provisional registration from the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the National Medical Commission (NMC) or State Medical Council (SMC) the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination is conducted twice a year.

Not only this, the NBE has also postpone the NEET-MDS which was scheduled for 8th Jan 2023 will now be conducted on 1st March 2023.
