As announced by NTA (National Testing Authority) the body responsible for conducting various entrance examinations all across India proposed that NEET-UG 2021 will be held on August 1, 2021. However, due to the sudden Covid situation as faced by the world, everything either put on a halt or got postponed for a while. The same was the case with the class 12th board examination. There were several speculations and demands for the postponement of the examination and lastly the government canceled the examination looking at the overall scenario of the covid in the country.

Although the experts already predicted that the scheduled examination of NEET-UG 2021 is likely to be postponed as the registration for the examination was still not initiated by the NTA. however, earlier this month, on June 6, 2021, the National Testing Agency, supposedly submitted a full status report to the Ministry of Education related to the conduct of several entrance examinations including the NEET-UG 2021.

And, yesterday, the newly appointed Education Minister, Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan announced the NEET-UG 2021 examination date. As per the announcement made by him, the NEET-UG 2021 examination will be held on September 12, 2021. He made this announcement via his Twitter handle.

The entrance examination for MBBS/BDS courses in the country was initially scheduled to be held on August 1, 2021. However, the government deferred the registration process due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the month of April and May and subsequent lockdown.
